As a Seattle resident, you know first hand how neighborhood connections build a stronger community, especially when it comes to emergency preparedness. Now, here’s your opportunity to increase your knowledge and learn great new ways to keep people engaged.
Be part of the first-ever Seattle Office of Emergency Management SNAP Leadership Academy, happening in October. We’d love to have your participation and insight in this pilot program. Here are the details:
Dates: Tuesday and Thursday - Oct 21, 23, 28 and 30 (four sessions total)
Time: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. each night
Place: Southwest Police Precinct
2300 S.W. Webster
Seattle, WA 98106
RSVP: by October 17th
e-mail: snap@seattle.gov
or 206-233-7123
(class size limited to 20)
There is no cost to be part of the 2008 SNAP Leadership Academy, but we do ask that you attend all four sessions. Course topics include:
- Emergency preparedness fundamentals
- How the city responds during disaster
- How to connect with your neighbors
- How to motivate others
- Creative ways to keep the momentum going
- Games, activities and more!
If you cannot participate, please feel free to refer this to someone you know who would be interested in the program and would make a great SNAP Coordinator.
We look forward to having you attend the 2008 SNAP Leadership Academy pilot program.
